The Sims 4, the latest installment of the hugely popular life simulation game franchise is set to be released on Sept. 2 for PC, Electronic Arts officially confirmed.

In the latest E3 gaming conference held in Los Angeles, they announced the reason for the delay. The postponement of the release was intended to 'fuel [the] development process, helping The Sims 4 to be the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made,' they stated. Mac Minimum Requirements. MINIMUM OS: Mac OS® X 10.7.5 (Lion) CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz Processor or better RAM: At least 4 GB RAM HARD DRIVE: At least 10 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games. Each Pack needs extra space. VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or better. EA has released the minimum system requirements for The Sims 4.They only shared the specs for one platform, though. Here's what you'll need to run the game on PC, courtesy of the official FAQ. ONLINE REQUIREMENTS: Internet connection required for product activation. RECOMMENDED SPECS: OS: 64 Bit Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 PROCESSOR: Intel core i5 or faster, AMD Athlon X4 VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 650 or better MEMORY: 4 GB RAM HARD DRIVE: 18 GB of Hard Drive space MAC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM SPECS: OS: Metal required. Mac OS® X 10.11.
They also revealed during the talk that they are currently focused on developing the game on the PC version. 'We have no updates on MAC at this time,' EA said at the FAQ page of their site.
System Requirements
Aside from the release date, EA also announced the official system requirements for The Sims 4. These are as follows:
- Internet connection for product activation
- Operating Systems required: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
- Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent)
- MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM
- HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
- DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only
- VIDEO CARD: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better, ATI Radeon X1300 or better, Intel GMA X4500 or better
- SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
- DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c compatible
- INPUT: Keyboard and Mouse

The Sims 4 is coming only for PC for now on September 2,2014. Mac version may come next year or at the end of this year. The Sims 4 PC System Requirements: Electronic Arts also revealed the system requirements of the game along with release date.
